Scholarship Application

The Pennsylvania Cattlemen’s Association (PCA) was established in 1978 to serve as the voice for Pennsylvania cattle producers. PCA works to serve all facets of the Pennsylvania cattle industry including cattle breeders, producers, and feeders.

To inspire and promote the next generation of cattlemen and women, PCA has created a scholarship find in the amount of $750 that will be awarded to an outstanding undergraduate student who is pursuing a degree and/or acting as a contributing member of the beef and cattle industry.

The PCA Scholarship is open for students who plan to remain in the beef, cattle, and/or veal industry. Applicants may pursue any field of education if he or she demonstrates their plan to remain within the beef and cattle industry.


Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a junior member or child of a Pennsylvania Cattlemen’s Association member.

  • Must be upon high school graduation heading toward or a full-time student enrolled in a trade school, two, or four-year institution for the 2024-2025 academic year.

  • Have demonstrated commitment to the cattle industry through clubs, classes, internships, or life experiences.

  • Must possess leadership qualities and skills and show intentions of representing the beef, dairy, and/or veal industries in some career form. Must provide at least one letter of recommendation.


The Pennsylvania Cattlemen’s Association will administer the program and choose a panel of judges to review applications and essays to select the winner. Essays will be judged based on originality, grammar, clarity of expression, accuracy, relevance of topic, and the solutions offered. The Pennsylvania Cattlemen’s Association reserves the right to publish all or any part of the essays submitted.

Previous scholarship winners are eligible to apply and receive the PCA scholarship up to two different times.


The deadline to submit an application, essay, and letter of recommendation is January 15, 2024. Please send all accompanying materials to pca@pacattlemen.org. Scholarships will be awarded at the PCA Annual Banquet on February 24, 2024.
